Zug, June 17, 2021. re:cap global investors ag, an internationally active independent investment advisor for renewable energy, and the engineering and consulting company 4initia GmbH are pooling their expertise and launching the joint venture 4:energy O&M GmbH. The new joint venture, based in Berlin, focuses on the technical operational management of ground-mounted solar plants for customers who either operate their own photovoltaic portfolios or serve third-party customers as asset managers. The company was founded on January 14, 2021. Operations on the first 35 megawatts started June 1. By the end of the year approximately 200 MWp of already contractually secured projects are to be integrated into the operational management. Continuous company growth and entry into international markets are planned for the coming years.
“In many cases, our customers are institutional plant operators with portfolios under long-term management, who often face a wide range of regulatory requirements,” says Anja Spannaus, managing director of 4:energy. “For these customers, we can offer high-quality, high-performance technical operations management because 4:energy combines the expertise of two established partners from the complementary fields of technology and finance.”
Torsten Musick, also managing director of 4:energy, adds, “Both founding partners have successfully completed the journey of a start-up to respected companies in their respective fields. We know the strengths of agile and dynamically growing organizations and offer our clients a broad network throughout the renewable energy sector as well as a proven track record of more than 15 years of experience in this segment.” Both partners found each other at exactly the right time: 4initia is an ISO9001 certified and well-established technical operations manager for onshore wind turbines with 500 W under management, whose long-term strategy was to expand its portfolio to include the photovoltaic asset class. Re:cap global investors, on the other hand, had been planning to establish its own technical operations management for its extensive solar portfolio for a long time.
4:energy, with its experienced service technicians and daily monitoring of the entire photovoltaic system, now ensures reliable operation of solar plants with components from all manufacturers in the open space. A special focus is on sustainability, digitalization, as well as expertise in almost all topics related to photovoltaic systems from a technical and commercial perspective. Examples include module recycling, component cycle, drone- and PID-analyses, and backsheet issues.
The services of 4:energy also meet the special requirements of impact funds, which is particularly crucial for large, institutional plant operators when choosing a technical operations manager. As a signatory of the UN Global Compact, 4:energy also demonstrates that appreciative teamwork, customer interests and environmental protection are not opposites, but rather combine to form an economically sustainable success story.
4:energy O&M GmbH is a technical operations manager for photovoltaics in Germany. The company focuses on ground-mounted systems of operators, especially from the institutional investor community. Accordingly, performance, transparency and quality are at the forefront of customer support. The network and experience of over 15 years of the two joint venture partners, re:cap and 4initia, offers clients an excellent combination of financial and technical expertise. Our technical operations management ensures its clients the optimal performance of their assets in the long term with innovative, competent and pragmatic solutions.
